GLSEN strives to assure that each member of every school community is valued and respected regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression. They believe that such an atmosphere engenders a positive sense of self, which is the basis of educational achievement and personal growth, and work to educate teachers, students and the public at large about the damaging effects these forces have on youth and adults alike.
Day of Silence - GLSEN's Day of Silence is a student-led national event organized in thousands of schools, bringing awareness to the silencing effects of anti-LGBTQ name-calling.

Proud Horizons Youth Group - Omaha
Proud Horizons is a youth group specifically for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and straight ally youth ages 13 to 23.
